Brothers García Caballero and José Martínez were awarded during an event held this Friday.

The Association of Industrial Entrepreneurs of Cieza presented its traditional awards this Friday to those companies that have stood out in recent years in the city. The García Caballero brothers, from Pitiso fruits, and José Martínez, from Excavaciones y Derribos el Mona, were recognized.

The event was chaired by the mayor, Tomás Rubio, and the national deputy Miriam Guardiola, as well as Joaquín Gómez, director of INFO -Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia-.

Rubio highlighted the strength of the Ciezan business network and announced the allocation of funds for the rehabilitation of the Sierra Ascoy industrial estate, which will be financed fifty-fifty by the Cieza City Council and the Autonomous Community. In addition, the mayor stressed the imminent creation of the Municipal Industrial Council to strengthen the sector in the city.

The García Caballero brothers have been producing plant-based foods independently, including stone fruit and citrus fruits, for 25 years. Currently, their facilities are open for 11 months a year, employing more than 250 people at their peak.

José Martínez, together with his wife Pilar Fernández, has been working in the municipality for 25 years and in recent years has extended its scope of action to the entire Region and to nearby provinces such as Alicante and Valencia.
